Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been named London’s player of the year at the annual awards ceremony for clubs in the English capital. But that’s not the only way the prolific striker has been in recent news.

Harry Kane was awarded the honorary title of London Player of the Year on Tuesday. The 27-year-old Tottenham striker, who has scored 21 goals and made 13 assists in the Premier League this season, beat his partner Heung-Min Son to the award, as well as West Ham’s Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek and Chelsea’s Mason Mount, in a vote held each year in the English capital. Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was voted London’s best young player, while David Moyes was named best manager for his performance as West Ham’s manager, who is still in the running for Champions League qualification.

Harry Kane has been at the centre of debate in England, as he has been racking up goals and assists for his national team and Tottenham. It’s not just that he’s been in the spotlight for a while now, but also because his future at club level is being questioned. Harry Kane’s injury in injury time in the 2-2 draw with Everton on Friday had left former manager Jose Mourinho concerned, but he is cautious.

Even if Tottenham isn’t in the running for the PL title anymore they are surely a great team to place sports bets on. The best way to do so is to have a look at some bookmakers for the best sport betting odds in all competitions:

Harry Kane scored twice against Everton in the Premier League on Friday to help Tottenham to a 2-2 draw, but the night ended even worse for the Spurs striker, who limped off in injury time with a right ankle injury sustained after contact with Richarlison. He was replaced by Delle Alli. Asked by his coach as he left the field, Kane shook his head, indicating that the problem may not be minor. “I really don’t know much, I don’t have much to say,” Jose Mourinho told Sky Sports. I don’t want to be stupidly optimistic. At the moment I don’t know. I think tomorrow we will have more details. If he left the field with only a few minutes left to play, it is obviously because he felt something, but let me be optimistic that he has time to recover. “Kane has suffered serious ankle problems in the past and it is now a race against time to be fit for the League Cup final against Manchester City on April 25 as the London club await their first trophy in 13 years.”

Kane praising his mate

Tottenham striker Harry Kane  has been pleasantly surprised by the management of his former team-mate Ryan Mason, who has taken over the Spurs bench following Jose Mourinho’s sacking. Harry Kane has spoken about the way Ryan Mason has taken over the Spurs bench after Jose Mourinho’s sacking earlier this week, with Tottenham facing Manchester City in the League Cup final at 5.30pm on Sunday. Harry Kane on Ryan Mason: “He’s been unbelievably good, he’s handled the situation and the team perfectly.” Tottenham parted ways with the Portuguese on Monday and appointed the former midfielder as interim manager until the end of the season, while Spurs beat Southampton 2-1 in the Premier League on Wednesday. Kane enjoyed his ex-teammate’s debut: “He’s been great, it’s been a bit strange for him, a lot of emotions, because he learned everything at the last moment. But he was incredibly good, he handled the situation and the team perfectly. It gave us all a boost going into the League Cup final. I am very close to Ryan, we have known each other for a long time. “The 29-year-old new Tottenham manager was at the London club until 2016. Two years later, he had to end his career after a head injury. Kane also said he was very surprised by Mourinho’s departure. “I found out about it five or 10 minutes before it was official,” he said.
