Real Madrid make decision on Zidane’s future.

Zinedine Zidane will not be facing the axe at Real Madrid in spite of the recent Copa del Rey disappointment.

The La Liga champions were dumped out of the Copa del Rey at the hands of third-tier side Alcoyano in less than a weeks’ time after exiting the Supercopa de Espana.

The Frenchman, though, has the full support of the Los Blancos board with the view that a manager who has brought substantial success in the past will be able to steady the ship and produce a turnaround of results. [Goal]

Chelsea handed boost in Rice pursuit.

West Ham United could reduce their valuation of Declan Rice ahead of the summer transfer window.

Rice was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer but the Blues were put off the Hammers’ hefty asking price of around £80 million.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic-induced financial crisis, however, West Ham are willing to lower their asking price near to £50 million.

Chelsea remain interested in securing the services of the 22-year-midfielder but they have to fend off competition from Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United. [90min]

Rojo a target for Boca Juniors.

Boca Juniors are interested in signing Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

Keen on bolstering their squad, the Argentine outfit are ready to offer the 30-year-old a three-year contract.

Rojo, who has a contract until June, appears to be surplus to requirements at Man United as he is yet to make a single first-team appearance this season. [TyC Sports]

Leicester contact Inter over Eriksen.

Leicester City have approached Inter Milan to discuss a potential transfer for Christian Eriksen.

The Foxes wanted to sign the former Tottenham midfielder on loan however they backed away from talks due to his reported £300,000-a-week salary.

Eriksen, though, is keen on returning to the Premier League and could convince Inter to contribute to his wages. [The Telegraph]

Fernandes to leave Spurs?

Tottenham midfielder Gedson Fernandes is a subject of transfer interest for Serie A side Torino.

Torino are in talks to sign Fernandes who they view as a potential replacement for Soualiho Meite, who made a loan switch to AC Milan earlier this month.

The 22-year-old Portuguese has been unable to impress manager Jose Mourinho and has featured sparingly for Tottenham this season. [DiMarzio]
