The Netherlands international is a reported top target for Erik ten Hag to bolster the Red Devils’ midfield.

Frenkie de Jong admits he is ‘flattered’ by Manchester United’s rumored interest, but insists he has ‘no news’ to share about his future.

Talks between Manchester United and Barcelona for De Jong are reportedly underway. Barca are holding out for at least €85 million. The La Liga side turned down a verbal offer worth €60 million, with €10 million in add-ons included, last week.

‘I am at the biggest club in the world’

De Jong himself has remained coy on these reports, but the midfielder has always maintained that he is happy at Camp Nou.

“You’re always flattered when teams show interest in you as a player,” the 25-year-old told reporters after helping the Netherlands beat Wales 3-2 in the Nations League on Tuesday.

“But, as you say, I am at the biggest club in the world at the moment and I feel fine there, so no news.”

Since his €85 million arrival from Ajax in 2019, De Jong has managed 12 goals and 17 assists in 138 appearances across all competitions and won the Copa del Rey for Barcelona.
