The Black Stars are set to appoint a new manager after a disastrous Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
Former Newcastle and Brighton boss Chris Hughton is a leading candidate for the vacant Ghana managerial position.
The Black Stars are in the market for a new gaffer after sacking Milovan Rajevac earlier in the week upon a group-stage exit from AFCON.
Time, though, is not on their side. A two-legged 2022 World Cup qualifying play-off against their West African rivals, Nigeria, awaits in March. The Ghana Football Association must make a swift decision about a new manager, or at least appoint an interim coach in the meantime.

Hughton one of four identified candidates
According to MyJoyOnline.com, the former could be the most likely route. Hughton is in Ghana. The 63-year-old could hold talks with the Ghana FA about the manager’s vacancy. He even has the support of an unnamed ‘high-ranking member of the government’.
The 63-year-old, who is half-Ghanaian on his father’s side of the family, has been out of work since September after Nottingham Forest fired him on the back of a poor start to the English Championship season.
Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo, Aston Villa youth coach George Boateng, and former Cameroon assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko are also in contention to become the next Ghana coach.
