The Red Devils have broken the bank to add a new forward to their ranks.

Manchester United completed a €100m move for Antony on Tuesday.

Following a long and controversial transfer saga, Ajax finally parted ways with their star forward as Man Utd made Antony their second-most expensive signing ever.

But how can Erik ten Hag integrate the Brazilian star into his Man Utd squad?

The most likely option

At Ajax, Ten Hag used Antony as a right winger, which is his most natural position as a forward.

There are not a lot of reasons to think the Dutchman would decide to do otherwise at Old Trafford.

Antony will provide Man Utd with quick runs down the right-hand side, making it easier for the target striker to move between the opponents’ defensive lines.

Most United fans are eager to see the trio of Sancho, Martial, and Antony up front.

However, Marcus Rashford’s improved form might convince Ten Hag to use him instead of Jadon Sancho on the left.

Antony on the left?

Playing Antony as a left winger would solve the problem of having Sancho on the bench.

The English star will return to the right-hand side while Rashford can play down the middle.

Antony has little experience playing as a left-back, which makes this option a risky one.

The Brazilian winger will most likely prefer to play in a more familiar position, hoping to find his rhythm at Old Trafford.

The Ronaldo factor

We left Cristiano Ronaldo out of the above formations as his future at Man Utd is still unclear.

Ten Hag has shown he doesn’t consider Ronaldo as a regular starter in his squad. However, having him on the team might change things dramatically for Antony and Sancho.

An in-form Ronaldo will most likely convince Ten Hag to choose either Antony or Sancho as his side’s right winger.

With Ronaldo, the competition for the remaining two attacking spots will increase.

Rashford will most likely start on the left-hand side, but he will face competition from both Sancho and Antony for a place in the lineup.
