Erik ten Hag has already decided who his first signing at Manchester United will be if he is appointed as manager.

Erik ten Hag wants to sign Ajax winger Antony at Manchester United if he is appointed manager in the summer.

Ten Hag is one of the favourites to take over from Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season, and was reportedly interviewed by the Red Devils last week.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino, Spain manager Luis Enrique, and Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui are the other candidates for the job at Old Trafford.

According to The Telegraph, the 52-year-old has already identified his first signing. Antony has been extremely impressive for Ajax, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists across all competitions so far.

His form earned him a call-up to the national side. The 22-year-old already has eight caps for Brazil and has scored two goals.

The report adds that if United do not appoint Ten Hag as manager, he is expected to sign Antony at whichever club he does join, if he leaves Ajax.

A number of European clubs, including Barcelona, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich have registered an interest in signing the Ajax youngster.

Ferdinand wants Tuchel at United

Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, has explained why he thinks his former club should appoint Thomas Tuchel instead of Ten Hag.

“I’m taking Tuchel, I don’t care,” the former Red Devils defender said on Vibe with Five.

“If roles were reversed and Man Utd were there and we had Tuchel as a sitting duck at our football club, presuming that he is a sitting duck from the reports that we’re hearing, there is a chance you could get him.

“Tuchel would be the one because he has shown that he has got the pedigree. He has shown already that he can come into this league, adapted straight away, won the Champions League, he can galvanize a squad, get them playing, create a culture, create togetherness and he has got discipline.”

United are back in action following the international break this weekend as they host Leicester City on Saturday.
