No specific timeframe has been provided as of yet for the recovery of the Argentine who was forced off the pitch at the weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Angel Di Maria will miss Paris Saint Germain’s clash against FC Barcelona later this month through injury.

The first leg of the Champions League Last-16 tie will be played at Camp Nou on February 16 while the second leg at Parc des Princes is scheduled for March 10.

Di Maria picked up a knock during the 2-0 victory against Marseille and, after setting up Kylian Mbappe for the opener, had to leave the field of play within 11 minutes of kick-off.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of PSG’s trip to Caen for the Coupe de France Round of 64 clash, Pochettino suggested that the Argentine is set for a spell on the sidelines.

“Yes, it’s over for Angel Di Maria [to play against Barcelona]. We will communicate again in a week to see where we are,” he said, via Goal.

“The fact of not having Di Maria in Barcelona does not force us to leave our main idea [of how to play]. We will find the best solutions.”

Di Maria, who is tied to the club until the end of June, has been a key player for PSG this season, contributing five goals and 12 assists across 25 appearances in all competitions.
