The five-time Ballon d’Or winner only has a year left on his contract at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo would enjoy a ‘formidable partnership’ with David Beckham at Inter Miami if he leaves Manchester United, according to Garth Crooks.

There have been rumors of late claiming Ronaldo could leave Old Trafford this summer. The 37-year-old will be out of contract in June 2023, although it’s likely he will wait until the club appoint a new permanent manager before making any final decision on his future.

‘Becks & CR7 would make a formidable partnership’

Nevertheless, Crooks is convinced Ronaldo’s playing days are far from over and thinks a move the Inter Miami could be up for next.

“I am a huge admirer of Ronaldo,” the former Tottenham and United forward wrote for BBC Sport in his Team of the Week column.

“His professionalism is beyond reproach and he has more than fulfilled the expectations required of a 37-year-old player in the toughest league in the world. However, he is still a young man who needs a purpose in life.

“The United States might be the place to establish that purpose. David Beckham and Ronaldo would make a formidable partnership in Miami.”

Beckham, as president of Inter, has opened the door to signing the Real Madrid legend and Lionel Messi in the past. He has already signed two of CR7’s former Juventus teammates in Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo hopes to return to action for Manchester United’s trip to Everton next Saturday in the Premier League after missing the 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the weekend due to illness.
