Antonio Rudiger is spending the last months of his current Chelsea contract.

Antonio Rudiger has been in negotiations with Chelsea for the past few months. The defender’s contract will expire in the summer, but he is yet to pen a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

According to 90min, Chelsea have already accepted the fact that Rudiger will leave the club in the summer. The club’s salary offer is reportedly way below Rudiger’s demands as he aims to become one of the top-earners at Chelsea.

The Chelsea defender will be able to negotiate with other clubs from February. This will put his current club in an even tougher position to negotiate a new deal.

Several top clubs are interested in signing Rudiger in the summer. Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and PSG eyeing moves for the defender, with the latter two being the frontrunners.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to keep his countryman, but the club’s hierarchy will most likely reject his request.

Speaking in September, the German manager said: “The situation is the situation. We want him to stay, this is very clear and he knows it. But sometimes in these situations there is a certain delay and, obviously, there is a delay in these talks and his decision.

“It can happen these days but it does not effect his mentality, it doesn’t affect his quality, it doesn’t effect his behaviour. He is fully committed to Chelsea right now and I am absolutely sure he feels the trust, respect and love from the club and spectators.”

In addition to Rudiger, the contracts of Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta will also expire in the summer. However, Chelsea are confident they will pen new deals with the pair.
