The Blues continued their brilliant run under the new manager despite having a few major changes in their lineup.

Graham Potter has insisted making changes in Chelsea’s lineup is crucial for their “group dynamic”.

Following an easy win over AC Milan in the Champions League, Potter’s side smashed Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues started without the likes of Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Reece James, Thiago Silva and Mateo Kovacic. But they had no problem dominating their opponents on home soil.

“There’s a good group here,” Potter said post-match.

“I don’t think we can succeed with just 11 players. I don’t think it’s right just to keep 11 going until they fall down and get injured or whatever and then we play the next ones, as I don’t think that’s good for the group dynamic.”

He added: “At the same time I’m conscious that if we lose the game today people would have been asking me why I didn’t play Aubameyang.

“That’s just how it is. But as long as the reason’s there, as long as I understand in my head why we’ve taken the decision, somebody’s got to take it.”

Chelsea must return to the Champions League to face Milan on Tuesday.
