The Italian coach has made yet another stamp in the Champions League record books.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has equaled Sir Alex Ferguson’s record for the most Champions League games as a manager.

In Tuesday’s 1-1 draw between Real Madrid and Manchester City, Ancelotti oversaw his 190th Champions League match in the dugout.

The only other coach to ever achieve this feat beforehand was none other than the former legendary manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson.

What is Ancelotti’s record in the UCL?

The 63-year-old has coached eight teams in Europe’s premier club competition – Parma (6 games), Juventus (10), AC Milan (73), Chelsea (18), PSG (10), Bayern Munich (12), Napoli (12), and Real Madrid (49).

He has overseen 108 victories, 41 draws, and 41 defeats according to stats from Transfermarkt.

Ancelotti is also the only manager to win the competition four times, twice each with AC Milan and Real Madrid.

Can Real Madrid reach the final again?

Despite feeling the ball was out of play prior to Kevin De Bruyne’s equalizing goal for Manchester City, Ancelotti still felt upbeat about Real Madrid’s prospects of reaching the final – even after a 1-1 home draw.

“[The feeling] is good,” Ancelotti said after the final whistle on Tuesday.

“We competed, we fought and maybe we deserved to win. It was a good game. The result doesn’t give us our reward, but this tie will be even until the last minute.”
