Brentford have reportedly offered Christian Eriksen a six-month contract.

Brentford are reportedly in talks with Christian Eriksen over a sensational return to football.

Eriksen has stayed away from professional football since suffering a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s Euro 2020 meeting with Finland in Copenhagen on June 12.

Reports in recent weeks have claimed that a number of Premier League clubs are interested in Eriksen’s services. And according to The Athletic, Thomas Frank’s Brentford are one of the teams keen on snapping up the Dane.

The report claims that the Bees have offered Eriksen an initial six-month deal, but no further talks with the player’s representatives have been held.

Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots previously claimed that a return to England would “feel like coming home” for the 29-year-old midfielder.

Earlier this month, Eriksen revealed his still hopes to play for Denmark at the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

“My goal is to play in the World Cup in Qatar. I want to play,” he told Danish outlet DR.

“That’s been my mindset all along. It’s a goal, a dream. Whether I’ll be picked is another thing. But it’s my dream to come back. I’m sure I can come back because I don’t feel any different.

“Physically, I’m back in top shape. That’s been my goal and it’s still some time away, so until then I’m just going to play football and prove that I’m back at the same level.”
