In a turn of surprising events, Cristiano Ronaldo’s captain’s armband has been put up for an online auction by a charity foundation.

Cristiano Ronaldo is so famous that anything related to him can be put up for auction and it would retain a sizeable amount. Last week, Portugal drew 2-2 against Serbia in their World Cup qualifying fixture in Belgrade.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s controversial reaction created chaos on social media as he was robbed of his match-winning goal.

During the final minutes of the game, Ronaldo threw his captain’s armband on the field as he walked off frustrated towards the dressing room. Now, this armband is being auctioned off in Serbia to help pay for a baby’s medical treatment.

In fact, a charity foundation managed to obtain CR7’s armband and the money raised will be put in for surgery for a six-month-old boy with spinal muscular atrophy.

According to the Associated Press, the charity foundation received this valuable armband from a stadium worker. Apparently, he picked it up after Ronaldo threw it and stormed into the tunnel before the full-time whistle.

As stated by the foundation, the blue armband with the capital letter C in white will be displayed on an online auction for three days. After all, we can say that the Portuguese international’s ill actions have come to fruition.
