Barcelona will be in the market to sign a new striker after the retirement of Sergio Aguero.

Barcelona are preparing for a busy transfer window this winter as they aim to improve their squad under Xavi Hernandez. Despite having defensive problems, the attacking unit is Baca’s main area of concern as it is crucial to Xavi’s style.

Accodring to El Nacional, Barcelona are considering Sebastien Haller as an ideal option for a winter move.

The French forward has developed into a World-class striker since joining Ajax from West Ham last season. He has scored 10 Champions League goals in six games this season, sitting on top of the competition’s goalscoring charts.

The Spanish source claims Barcelona are looking to sign a long-term option upfront after the unfortunate retirement of Sergio Aguero. However, Haller’s contract at Ajax runs until 2025, and signing him would not be cheap for the Catalans.

In addition to the transfer fee, Ajax rarely sell a regular starter in January. This season, the club have qualified to the knock-out stage of the Champions League and they will look forward to having Haller upfront. Barcelona will, however, have a chance to sign the 27-year-old next summer.

For the winter, the Spanish giants are heavily pursuing a deal for Manchester City’s Ferran Torres. According to several sources, Xavi is keen to have the Spaniard in his team. However, Barcelona’s fragile financial situation leaves fans in doubt as to whether they can finalize a deal for the 21-year-old.
