The Bayern Munich striker is heavily linked with a summer move to Barcelona.

Joan Laporta says Robert Lewandowski has a ‘better chance’ of moving to Barcelona head of the next season.

The Barcelona president was speaking in response to a fan who asked him about the club’s interest in the Polish striker.

With Lewandowski’s contract expiring in 2023, several clubs have shown interest in signing him next summer. Barcelona are currently leading the race, with Bayern yet to open negotiations with the 33-year-old.

On Friday, a fan stopped Laporta in public and asked him: “Joan, is Lewandowski coming or not?”

The Barca chief replied: “This one has a better chance of coming, yes.”

According to several German outlets, Bayern Munich are hoping to keep Lewandowski at Allianz Arena.

However, if they don’t reach an agreement with the former Borussia Dortmund striker, they might still keep him for one more season. The Bavarians will spend the next season looking for a replacement before letting Lewandowski leave for free in 2023.

On the other hand, Lewandowski could be a cheaper alternative to Erling Haaland for Barcelona.

The Catalans are still keen to sign the Norwegian star. However, their financial situation has put them behind Manchester City and Real Madrid in the transfer race.

Haaland and Lewandowski will face in Der Klassiker this weekend. Let’s see if Bayern Munich can claim their tenth league title in a row by beating Dortmund at Allianz Arena.
