The Gunners have already wrapped up deals for three players but there is more to come before the August 31 deadline.

Mikel Arteta is content with Arsenal’s transfer activity so far but expects more signings before the summer window slams shut.

Arsenal have spent around £75 million in squad recruitment so far this summer. Ben White used up the majority of that sum as the highly-rated center-back cost in the region of £50 million, while Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga are the other two new faces in their squad.

The Gunners are now reportedly in search of an attack-minded midfielder, with James Maddison and Martin Odegaard said to be on their shortlist, as well as a goalkeeper, with Aaron Ramsdale suggested as their No.1 target.

“Well, in this first period of the transfer window I think we’ve done a few things we wanted to do and it’s going to help us to get the squad in a much better place,” the club’s official website quotes Arteta.

“There is still a bit of the window to go, so I’m sure things will happen either way.

“I’m willing to work with the players that I have at the moment and get the best out of them, and we will see what we can do.

“The club, the owners and myself, we all have the same interests, which is to make this team much stronger and we know that we still have things to do to get what we want.

“It’s been a really difficult transfer window and probably a lot of things will happen in the last week or so.”
