Raheem Sterling has attracted interest from Arsenal, who want to bolster their attacking line in the January transfer window.

Manchester City have a star-dusted midfield, having too many top-class stars to play at the same time. Raheem Sterling is a winger, but he still has so many contenders that he barely gets game time.

The English international has featured in only five league games this season. Sterling does not show any signs of being out form despite his struggle to get into the lineup. He scored the opener for Man City in their crucial Champions League win over PSG last week.

According to MEN, Sterling is eyeing a move away from Man City, with his current deal expiring in June 2023.

“It’s the case that his representatives have met with Man City and are saying their player does not wish to continue or indeed explore an extension on his contract,” Ian McGarry on The Transfer Window Podcast.

“Instead, they would prefer to explore the option of a loan deal, which they would like to begin in the January window. Whether or not that’s possible remains to be seen, but there are several interested parties, including Arsenal.”

Barcelona and Arsenal are both targeting January moves for Sterling. The upcoming window will be the Citizens’ last chance to cash out on the England international.

Arsenal will have a better chance of signing Sterling in the summer as the Catalans deal with severe financial issues.

The Spanish giants are keen to sign the Man City winger on a free deal next summer. However, Sterling reportedly prefers to move away this winter.
