The Ghana international has missed Arsenal’s last few matches with a thigh injury.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admits Thomas Partey might not be able to play again this season.

The Gunners midfielder suffered an injury setback during Arsenal’s clash against Crystal Palace earlier this month. Initial scans revealed damage to a section of Partey’s thigh that had picked up a knock before.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming game against West Ham, Mikel Arteta gave an update on Partey’s injury.

“He’s progressing,” the Gunners boss said.

“But he had a significant injury, a recurring injury as well, so we don’t expect him to make progress that quickly to see him this season, but hopefully, I am wrong.”

Another big blow to Arsenal’s squad was the injury of Bukayo Saka last week. However, Arteta is optimistic he will have the forward at his disposal on Sunday.

“Hopefully, he [Saka] will be fine. He had some issues in the final part of the game, but he’s recovered well and we expect him to be available,” Arteta added.

Arsenal reclaimed the fourth spot on the table with a brilliant victory over Manchester United. The Gunners are now two points ahead of Tottenham, who will play against Leicester City this weekend.
