Los Blancos have lost momentum lately, having recorded zero wins in their last three matches across all competitions.

Real Madrid must “reflect and find out why the team’s attitude has changed,” said manager Carlo Ancelotti after seeing his drop points in a third consecutive game.

Real Madrid took to the pitch on Sunday looking to bounce back after suffering defeat against Sheriff in the Champions League and settling for a point against Valencia in La Liga.

The league leaders’ stuttering, however, continued as they were beaten by Espanyol 2-1, with the result ensuring they remain tied with rivals Atletico Madrid on 17 points.

Los Blancos thought they could at least salvage a point from the game when Eden Hazard leveled the score late on, but he was deemed offside and his goal was ruled out.

“We played badly, there’s not much more to say. It was our worst game [of the season so far],” Ancelotti told at his post-match press conference (via Marca).

“Now we have the international break and we have to reflect and find out why the team’s attitude changed in a week.

“I noticed [the change in attitude] today. We weren’t very aggressive, we lost out in duels. I’m referring to the technical and tactical aspect of the game.”
