‘Amazing’ Ronaldo is exactly what Arsenal need, says Gunners legend

CR7 has bagged two hat-tricks in his last three Premier League games for Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo is exactly the type of player that Arsenal need at the Emirates, according to club legend Ian Wright.

Arsenal have scored just twice on route to four defeats in their last five Premier League games. This form has dropped them down to sixth, behind top-four rivals Tottenham and Manchester United.

United, meanwhile, have reaped the rewards of having Ronaldo. The 37-year-old has scored two hat-tricks across his last three league games. The most recent treble came on Saturday. It earned the Red Devils a crucial 3-2 win over Norwich, moving the club to within three points off the top four.

“He [Ronaldo] has got 13 points alone from winning goals that he’s scored for them. That’s what you get at Man United,” Wright told Premier League Productions.

“That’s exactly what Arsenal need because if he wasn’t playing for United they’d be nowhere near where they are.

“That’s what you pay for and that’s what he’s delivered, he’s amazing.”

Ronaldo and United will face the Gunners this Saturday for a Premier League clash in London.

But before then, they must first visit Liverpool and Chelsea respectively for mid-week matches.
